Nominations for the 2008 ACT OHS Awards close on 4 July 2008.
Entries may be submitted by individual applicants or by organisations in any of the following categories:
- Best Workplace Health and Safety Management System
- Best Solution to an Identified Workplace Health and Safety Issue
- Best Workplace Health and Safety Practices in Small Business
- Public Sector Leadership in Injury Prevention and Management
- Best Individual Contribution to Health and Safety
- Most Successful Promotion of OHS in Workplaces
- Best Workplace Health and Wellbeing Program
The winners of Categories 1 to 5 automatically qualify as the ACT’s nominee for the national Safe Work Australia Awards 2008.
The ACT OHS Awards is an annual awards scheme, designed to promote and recognise high standards of occupational health and safety in ACT workplaces.
The awards aim to:
- encourage public and private workplaces throughout the ACT to develop and implement initiatives that help to achieve a safer work environment
- share learning so that proven initiatives and innovations can find their way into widespread practical application in workplaces across the ACT
- publicly highlight significant achievements in workplace health and safety state-wide.
Awards Ceremony
An awards ceremony will be conducted on Thursday 16 October 2008 at the National Convention Centre, commencing at 12.30 pm and concluding at 3.00 pm. The ceremony will involve the announcement of award category winners and presentations by the Attorney-General, Mr Simon Corbell, MLA.
