The ACT Occupational Health and Safety Awards have three major aims:

  1. to encourage public and private workplaces throughout the ACT to develop, implement and evaluate initiatives that help achieve a healthier and safer work environment
  2. to share learning and assist the award-winning initiatives in being promoted and adopted into ACT workplaces
  3. to reward ACT employees and organisations for outstanding achievements in workplace health and safety.

The Attorney-General, Mr Simon Corbell, MLA, will announce the OHS Awards winners at a luncheon on Thursday, 16 October 2008.
